Health Checks
Since GANE began, we have been checking the 'health' in terms of marketing and audience development of a number of arts organisations in the North East. These consultancies have given us at GANE valuable insight in the things organisations struggle with but also what they do really well. This information will help us to provide the right kind of training and advice, tailored to issues that apply specifically to the cultural sector in the North East, both in the performing and visual arts.
The Health Checks, which are 2-3 hour sessions in which we ask an organisation a list of questions to find out what their main issues are, result in a thorough analysis and some very practical recommendations.
Although a Health Check report normally includes suggestions for improvements staff can make themselves, some of the organisations go on to commission GANE to do further tailor-made work with them to help them grow their audiences, ranging from anything between creating Strategic Marketing Plans to delivering workshops, mentoring schemes and doing research.
Organisations who have gone through our Health Check so far include:
- Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums
> subsequently commissioned GANE to deliver training in Social Media and as a result they are now active on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Youtube and reaching a wider and younger audience (January 2011) - Duff House
> subsequently commissioned GANE to do audience research and help produce a Strategic Marketing Plan and have now produced a wonderful new website (Spring 2011) - sound festival
- North East Arts Touring
> subsequently commissioned GANE to produce an 8-weeks-to-go Marketing Guide and a workshop for its network of volunteer promoters (Autumn 2010) - Puppet Animation Scotland
- Aberdeenshire Arts Team
- Aberdeen International Youth Festival
